Being stuck inside a perpetual state of misery can be really challenging to break out of. When your mindset isn’t strong, everything can seem overwhelming. Often times, being an entrepreneur might not turn out to be what you dreamed it to be, and that can take a big toll on your mental health. Many entrepreneurs quit too soon because they don’t take the time to care for themselves as they build their businesses. Today, I want to share 10 ways to practice gratitude every day to help encourage you to keep going.

Gratitude is such an important part of building a business, and one that is often overlooked. Building a mindset of gratitude helped change everything for me. I realized that I had spent years locked into a negative mindset; one where I would fight to get out of but without any luck. When you begin to focus on gratitude, your world can begin to change. The changes might seem small. But, with consistency overtime you can develop a mindset of gratitude that can positively impact your business overall.
5 Ways To Practice Gratitude Every Day
1. Start Your Day With Gratitude
When your eyes open in the morning, try being grateful FIRST. Be grateful that you woke up, that you have a home, that you have food in your pantry, or that you have a job. Right when your eyes open, find something to be grateful for even if it’s small. You’ll notice your attitude shift right away. Instead of dreading the day, start with thankfulness. You will notice the difference.
2. Gratitude Journal
Journaling gratitude was a game changer for me. There is something so significant about writing down the things you are thankful for. Not only can you think of these things, but seeing them written down daily is really impactful. Creating a habit for gratitude in your life is something that every business owner should do. It helps you mentally in the immediate, but also overtime your heart can shift towards gratitude more easily when it’s a ritual.
I have created the Make Every Day Stellar 31 Day Gratitude Journal to specifically help entrepreneurs. With a lot of room to write, easy to carry, and creative space for processing, this journal is a great resource to help move you in the right direction. Grab your copy today HERE.
3. Affirmations
This is something that I provide inside every single Stellar Mid-Week. Affirmations are key to building a mindset of gratitude. Usually, it requires repeating them out loud daily to truly form a habit. When you have positive affirmations that you can repeat daily, it makes a difference in shifting your mindset.
The tricky things with affirmations, is that it can often feel like you aren’t speaking the truth if you don’t believe them in your heart. I try to add, “I’m in the process of…” to the beginning of affirmations that I am trying to believe. Next time you are reciting an affirmation that you WANT to believe but don’t currently, try adding that to the beginning. You ARE in the process of believing that, therefore it’s easier to believe.
“I’m in the process of believing that I am enough.”
4. Gratitude Lists
Even though you will be journaling every day, it might help to have a list of all the things you are grateful ready to refer to. On days when it’s tough to find something to be grateful for, your list will have already done the work for you.
I created a FREE Gratitude List in printable form that will help you get started on creating your very own list! To snag that template to start on your very own list, click HERE.
5. Thank You Cards
Anytime I feel the nudge to send a word of encouragement to someone, I try to act on that. Telling others that you are thankful for them allows you r heart to remember why you are thankful for them. Not only does it inspire the person that you’re sending the card to, but it also solidifies gratitude inside your own heart. It’s an act of kindness and a small but sweet way to show someone that you think they are awesome.
Adding gratitude into your life doesn’t have to be complicated or exhausting.
You don’t have to force it or do much to create it. It can start as small as you need it to, and will likely begin to provide huge benefits. I watched my entire mindset begin to shift when I started regularly practicing gratitude. At first, it seems as though nothing is happening. But let me assure you, over time your brain will begin to notice all of the goodness first. And what you reap, you will sow! Take small steps towards thankfulness and commit to making this a habit every day. You won’t regret it!
