Cherry Limeade

My kids had been BEGGING me to make Cherry Limeaide. I mentioned it literally once and that was it. I kept putting it off because honestly? I’m not a crafty/baking/DIY mama usually, and rallying to be in the kitchen with my kids is a challenge sometimes. It’s not because I don’t love them, or because I am lazy, or don’t have time.

To keep it real?

I struggle with my mindset, messes throughout the house, and finding the motivation to do something outside of my daily routine at times, and sometimes I really have to push to make an effort.

It truly depends on the day.

I have committed to making time to do more fun things with my family, and if the quarantine has taught me anything, it’s that our days can shift in an instant and making the most of each one is so important.

So I did it! I got into the kitchen, followed this simple recipe that I originally found HERE, and made Cherry Limeaide for my kiddos. It’s heating up here in AZ big time, so it was a really fun little treat for them to enjoy mid day. PLUS, they drank the entire pitcher within about an hour. HA! But since all I used was fresh cherries and real limes, I was totally ok with it.

I’m including the recipe I used here below. It’s easy to make with minimal cleanup! However, I would have enjoyed a juicer, maybe like THIS one. I didn’t have one and I squeezed those limes by hand and it wasn’t my favorite part. I filled my favorite mason jars with tons of ice so it was super cold, and we all gobbled it down! Check out the recipe below. This is how I chose to add some sparkle to our day, and to choose joy even though these days are still really hard.

Make every day stellar!
