How To Let Go And Get Started

Let Go And Get Started

When you have a new idea that you believe would be an awesome business, it can be so hard to not self sabotage right from the beginning. Doubt creeps in and before you know it, you’ve almost talked yourself out of starting. OR you procrastinate and don’t actually do anything. When you are starting anything new, especially a new business, it’s important to just LET GO and GET STARTED.

If you are a creative entrepreneur, or desire to be, you probably understand that you’re really good at CREATING. Coming up with ideas is exhilarating and new ideas pop into your head like fly’s on a hot day. Creating something new is so exciting and it’s so fun to dream about the future and what could be possible. Maybe you have a million dollar idea and you just KNOW that it could explode into something that the world is waiting for! We’ve all been there- starting hundreds of businesses inside our creative minds but not ever putting any backing to it to get it moving.

You were given these ideas and creations for a reason and a purpose. You have a passion to start something new because inside your heart you are a leader and you are nervous to believe that all the way. Staying stagnant isn’t going to do yourself any favors and it’s certainly not changing the world. And your heart is prompting you to change the world! Are you telling yourself it’s not possible before you even begin? Are you allowing your ego to step in and rob the joy from your ideas?

WHAT IF God gave you those ideas and wants to use them to help change the world? Or even just change one person’s world? It might even be meant to only change YOUR world but wouldn’t that be worth it! Failure is inevitable at some points and truly the only way to learn.

Here Are 3 Simple Things To Consider:

1. Let GO of the outcome. Don’t focus on the entire mountain. A lot of times when we are creating ideas and business plans, we focus on the end result and where we want to be. That’s too overwhelming. You have to be willing to let go of potentially where you’ll end up. Do you need to have some kind of road map? Sure. But in your heart, let go of the end result and allow yourself to take it one day at a time.

2. Get started. You can’t just talk about it any longer, you actually have to do something now. Massive action solves all problems. When I started my podcast, I had NO idea what I was doing. I’m still learning SO much as I go, but at the beginning? It almost seemed overwhelming. I spent two years talking about how much I want to start one when finally, I decided enough is enough and I leapt into it. I figured it out along the way. I’ve filled more Moleskine books with notes than I know what to do with, but you know what? I’m doing it! It’s not perfect and I have loads to learn. But I’m moving forward and that’s what matters!

3. Be consistent. If you’re nervous about the time commitment it’s going to take to effectively run your business, then I challenge you to take it slow. You don’t have to quit your full time job anytime soon if you don’t want to BUT whatever pace you decide to move at, consistency is key. Even small consistent actions will move you further and will begin to push fear out.

Go with your gut and pick your top idea to start! Do the research it takes, but don’t hide behind your computer screen. Start taking small action steps that will begin to bring this idea to life. You are not too late, you’re not too old, you’re not unqualified to do this. Just get started and see what doors will begin to open for you.

LET GO- of the perfect timing, the perfect office space, the perfect season of life etc. Let go of the outcome. Don’t focus and fixate on where you think you should be. Let go and trust that ALL THINGS will unfold for the higher good of everyone involved and make sure you lean into and trust the process.

START- Just get started! Buy a domain, create a website, get a fantastic planner and flesh out all these ideas, get an LLC, start a social media account, post your first product. Do anything to get the ball rolling in the direction you desire to go. Just start somewhere. It’s not going to be perfect, but you’ll figure it out along the way! That’s why entrepreneurship is so incredibly fun!

BE CONSISTENT- Make a decision and then commit to doing certain things for your new business every day. I teach my teams how to get essential items done inside your business for even one hour a day. With focused time and clear goals, an hour a day can accomplish a lot. I released a podcast titled “How To Effectively Do A Power Hour” if you want to check that out. Small amounts of consistency will move you forward in greater ways that you know as long as you commit to it!

You’ve got this. Don’t allow fear to hold you captive any longer. I understand that starting something new is scary, and putting yourself out there is nerve-wracking. The fear of failing is real and you don’t want to look like an idiot. Failure is a part of the process of LIFE, really. You might totally fail. I’ve started several business ideas that just didn’t pan out but that’s ok because I learned so much in the process.

I stopped caring what others think about my journey in entrepreneurship, and you should too. Commit to starting and learning through the process. You have so much to give and so much that you’re capable of. It’s not doing anyone any favors keeping it all bottled up like that. Let go, get started and see what could happen. You’ll have amazing days and challenging days, but commit to consistency every day and watch how life can shift and change for you.

I believe in you! Let go, get started, and don’t ever give up on yourself!

Make every day stellar!
