Sleepy Time Tea Routine

Now that school is back in session for most (or will be soon!), it’s time to start getting back into a routine. And after a summer full of late nights and sleep-in mornings, it can be a challenge to get back into the swing of things. And if you’re anything like me, falling asleep can also be hard at times. That’s why I’ve adopted an awesome Sleepy Time Tea Routine that I try to do many nights during the week. Maybe this will help you too!

1. Start Getting Ready For Bed When Your Kids Do

I get it, that seems really early to be getting ready for bed. It could be several hours before you actually climb in, depending on how old your kids are. The thing is, your brain needs to wind down too. Starting the process early enough tells your body that it’s getting close to time to go to sleep. I usually start by getting my pajamas on around the time my kids do. I wash my face and get my slippers on. This signals to my brain that it’s the end of the day and time to start getting sleepy.

2. Make Sleepy Time Tea

I live in Arizona, so it’s not really close to hot tea weather. But, I try to do what I can to usher in the fall! Ha. Truthfully, I make sleepy time tea so that I can sip on it as I get my kids into bed. This helps me to prepare to get into bed myself and creates a soothing experience in the middle of the crazy world of getting kids to sleep. I love this Bigelow Sweet Dreams Herbal Tea. It’s caffeine free (which is very important!), is soothing and smells really great too. All of it gives my body cues that we are coming to the end of the evening, and it’s time to go to sleep soon. I use my favorite gratitude mug and that just makes everything better too.

3. Read

Reading is really important to me. I listen to a lot of books on Audible but I also try to read at least 10 pages of a physical book as well. Right now, I’m reading Grant Cardone’s The 10X Rule. But, I also occasionally read something just for fun. My choice there is Nora Robert’s Public Secrets. I’ve read this book more times than I can count since I was in high school and love reading it again and again. Give yourself 15 or so minutes to read and let your brain slow down.

4. Night Time Formula

My last tip in this Sleepy Time Tea Routine is to take Night Time Formula. Night Time Formula is a supplement that is an exclusive blend of high-quality standardized extracts, including melatonin, valerian, passion flower, and TheaPure that promotes normal sleep cycles. I take two of these about 30 minutes before I go to sleep, and it helps tremendously. It’s non-habit forming and provides support without causing you to feel rundown or tired in the morning. It works like a charm and I am so thankful to have it!

There you are! Implement this Sleepy Time Tea Routine into your regular weeks and you will not only sleep better, but you’ll feel more relaxed getting into bed. However, consistency is key. So make sure that you not only set yourself up for success but that you stick with it too! Have you tried this routine? I’d love to hear how you’re loving it!
